Who I Am

He is passionate about coaching, enabling and leading people to do their best work, focussing on personal, career and organizational growth.
I was first exposed to Extreme Programming at my first post-varsity job in 2009. I joined a small startup of very senior engineers and for my first task was given a 32 page BRD. Any ideas I had of problem solving and thinking through different solutions had already been done, I was an overqualified typist. Sensing my frustration, my manager at the time gave me new tasks to build a new system and introduce some new tech. He introduced me to an iterative approach called XP. I was hooked. Since then I learned how to introduce these practices through osmosis as a developer and team member, I learned how to leverage Scrum through the role of Scrum Master to empower a team member called a Product Owner. As a manager and head of department I applied my learnings to product development, transparent budgeting, and team development. I applied the fundamentals of empiricism across engineering teams, then departments, then companies. All this with one stong belief - that people thrive when empowered with the right direction and space for autonomy.
